Rideshare Commuter Services - www.ohiorideshare.com
The Eastgate OhioRideshare Program was established in 1990 in order to reduce traffic congestion, air pollution, and utilize natural resources more efficiently through the use of carpools, vanpools, and public transit. OhioRideshare is a GIS web-based user driven system that matches commuters living and working near each other and are interested in sharing a ride together. The program is free to anyone in the 13 Northeast OhioCounties in the OhioRideshare service area.
Eastgate also offers a Guaranteed Ride Home Program (GRH) to qualifying members of the OhioRideshare database. The GRH program reimburses commuters 80% (or a maximum of $60.00) of the costs incurred in using a taxi, bus, or rental car to get home in the event of an unforeseen emergency. To be eligible for the GRH program, a commuter must be registered with the OhioRideshare program, complete a GRH registration form, and carpool or vanpool to work at least three days per week. To register for the GRH program please contact the Eastgate office to obtain a registration form.
