In the second round of the Conservation Fund, Austintown Township acquired 16.5 acres of land adjacent to the Austintown Township Park. The emphasis of this project was to preserve the high quality, viable habitat for the plant and animal species that already exist in the grasslands, fields, and former farmland that the site encompasses. The acquisition of this land brings the total acreage of the park to 196 acres.
