Registration is now open for ARC's five upcoming 2018 POWER public workshops at www.arc.gov/workshops. Join the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) at a free workshop to learn about available funding to help Appalachia's coal-impacted communities diversify and strengthen their local economies through the POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization) Initiative.

Workshop attendees will learn about the objectives of the 2018 POWER Initiative, which organizations are eligible for funding, and how to develop a competitive funding proposal. The workshops will also provide information on the latest research about coal-impacted communities, case studies about successful POWER investments, and networking time for participants. Each meeting is free and open the public, will run from about 9:00 am-3:30 pm, and will include a light breakfast and lunch. All of this is in support of the 2018 POWER Request for Proposals (RFP), which is expected to be released in the near future.

Workshop schedule:
• Wednesday, February 14, California, PA
• Tuesday, February 20, Greenville, SC
• Wednesday, February 28, Daniels, WV
• Thursday, March 8, Hazard, KY
• Wednesday, March 14, Tuscaloosa, AL
