Thursday, May 24: Winds will weaken in Youngstown-Warren, limiting pollutant dispersion. Furthermore, an upper-level ridge of high pressure will reduce mixing and produce mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. These conditions will increase ground-level ozone formation, leading to Moderate AQI levels.

Friday, May 25 is an Air Quality Advisory Day in the Youngstown-Warren region. As the upper-level ridge persists over Ohio, mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s will continue to enhance ozone formation. Furthermore, light southeasterly to southwesterly winds will transport additional pollutants into the region. As a result, AQI levels will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Saturday, increasing clouds and scattered afternoon rain showers will reduce ozone production in the Mahoning Valley. However, light southwesterly winds will continue to transport regional pollutants into the area, leading to Moderate AQI levels. Sunday, mostly cloudy skies and rain showers will limit ozone production. However, light southerly winds will bring pollutants into the Mahoning Valley, resulting in low-Moderate AQI levels. Memorial Day and Tuesday, winds will gradually shift to northerly, bringing cleaner air into Youngstown-Warren. However, increasing sunshine will enhance ozone production on Tuesday. As a result, AQI levels will be high-Good on Monday and low-Moderate on Tuesday.
