Strategy
The Eastgate Regional Council of Governments (EASTGATE) asserts a strong commitment to public participation in all of its on-going program activities. It is the objective of EASTGATE's Public Involvement Program (PIP) to reaffirm the agency's commitment through a specific plan of action designed to provide maximum opportunity for public involvement in developing the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the planning area.
The LRTP PIP was developed by EASTGATE and officially adopted by the General Policy Board in July, 1994. The PIP is divided into three separate phases. Phase I identifies the participants and issues to be included in the public involvement program. Phase II recognizes specific outreach techniques to be used in the program, and Phase III details program evaluation.
