Vanpooling
The EASTGATE Rideshare vanpool program works in much the same way as the carpool program by computer-matching large groups of commuters making daily commutes to work of 20 miles or more into vanpools as a safe, economical, and convenient alternative to driving alone. Typically known as traditional vanpooling, groups of 7 to 15 commuters lease luxury passenger vans for use in their daily commute to and from work. In exchange for use of the van, the commuters pay a monthly lease cost based on the total number of miles driven. The lease, maintenance, insurance, tolls and gasoline costs are shared among all riders and paid in one monthly fee. The driver, who volunteers to drive the van on a daily basis, rides for free.
Non-traditional vanpooling services are available to Ohio employers, non-profit, and social service agencies. Non-traditional vanpools are used for multiple work-trip situations such as shuttling employees from parking areas to work sites and transporting clients to job training sites. Insurance and maintenance packages are also available with this program. If you would like more information please contact Eastgate at 330-779-3800.
